WHY IS ORGANIC OR NATURAL SEARCH ENGINE OPTIMIZATION IMPORTANT?
Search engine optimization is an investment. There is no better, shorter way to position your
business for future growth and sales than with natural or organic search engine optimization.
Consider these compelling statistics derived from Forrester Research in 2006 (and still
representative of what you would expect to see today :
- 93% of all Internet traffic initiates with a search engine;
- 89% are first-time visitors;
- 99% do not search beyond the top 30 results;
- 97% never look beyond the top three results;
- 76.7% of Google users click on the organic (unpaid) listings first;
- the top three websites in any industry earn 65% of all online revenue;
- the top 10 websites have 78% more traffic than those in positions 11-30.
According to internetworldstats.com, on March 31, 2009 there were 1,596,270,108 Internet users
world-wide. Your chances of ranking in the top 10 are small at best. The Consumer Behavior
Report published in April 2009 noted that one in ten US consumers have made purchases from
their mobile device, and two thirds have access to the Internet via their phone. These figures are
only likely to grow.
The annual survey conducted by the Center For The Digital Future at USC's Annenberg School
For Communication was released on April 28, 2009. A significant finding was that "more than
half of Internet users (52 percent) said they never click on Web advertisements and only 6 percent
said they do so sometimes or often."
Getting ranked in Google search results for a popular key word phrase takes a lot of time, effort,
and patience. Businesses are often quick to praise SEO's obvious advantages - zero cost per
click and sustainable rankings - but feel less sure when it comes to paying up front costs for
something they may not understand, and will only see results from at some distant point in the
future. When you know that only 10 web sites are capable of getting on the first page of Google for
a specific keyword or keyword phrase, you should know that is going to cost something, but also
know that there are always ways to make organic search engine optimization affordable.
The return on investment (ROI) for organic search engine optimization is sizeable. Nine to twelve
months after the start of an organic search engine optimization project, you can expect to see a
soft return on investment in the form of higher brand recognition and better leads; and a hard ROI
in terms of increased sales and conversions.

WHAT IS NATURAL OR ORGANIC SEARCH ENGINE OPTIMIZATION?
Organic Search Engine Optimization or Natural SEO is about traffic and location. Just like gas
companies find it most profitable to have their business situated on the corner of a busy
intersection, the most profitable websites appear at or near the top of search engine results for
everyday popular search terms typed into the most popular browser windows. As an example,
you may have found us by typing "define search engine optimization" (plus or minus the quotes)
into your favorite browser.
Natural search engine optimization also known as organic search engine optimization or SEO is
a process, an ongoing process that applies tools, techniques and best practices to maneuver a
website so that it appears at or near the top of search engine results when common, everyday,
and frequently used keyword phrases are typed into a browser window. The most successful
websites understand their intended audience's surfing patterns and preferred use of language,
and have been tuned / optimized to target the most advantageous search terms (keyword
phrases). In other words, using a keyword tool I was able to discern that a good number of
people are curious about how search engine optimization is defined and find out the answer by
typing the keyword phrase "define search engine optimization" into Google and Yahoo's browser
window. When they do that, this page is returned in the top 10 search engine results on Google.
Organic search engine optimization delivers !
The goal of natural or organic search engine optimization is not just to increase traffic to your
website. Search engine optimization is about results. A well optimized website will remove
obstacles impeding the indexing of your site and open new, well travelled and authoritative
pathways to your content.; it will deliver profits because the more detailed the keyword search
phrase, the more likely the person searching is ready to convert or buy!
